Default lighting problem

Ok, well yesterday my friend drove my car to school and i guess he never turned the lights off. So for 8 hrs my lights were on and my battery died. and then my alarm was going off for hours. I got the battery tested and it was bad, so i got a new one. Well, today i was driving at night, turned on my lights and the headlights came on, so did all of the dashlights. The only ones on the inside that didn't come on were the speedometer and the tach and all of the gauges. I'm like wtf. Well i drive home and get out and i found out my parking lights aren't working either, but my turn signals do turn on, but then when i push my emergency light button, nothing happens. Also, the rear tails don't light up anymore when the lights are turned on, but when i step on the brake it still works. What is Happening. I don't think the bulbs are burnt out becuase the taillights still light up for the brake. Could it be a fuse or relay or something. I don't really know much about electronics. Can anyone help me, and maybe if your in so cali, can u come check it out and maybe help me. I am clueless and have no money to take to a shop. If it matters, i have a 94 accord. Thanks

first things first, check the fuse.

small/courtesy light
cluster/instusment light
turn signal and brake light

those are not the offical name of the fuse from honda but it just some idea.

do you know where those fuses are? Are they the ones in the engine bay or under the dash on the driver side. And how do you know if the fues is bad or not?

well, what year is your accord?
the 6th gen got one in the passenger side too

when you look at the fuse, look at the center of it, it should have a little hair size metal stripe connecting both side(think of a bridge) if it's not connected(burn out) it's blown.
look at your manual that come with the car, it got some nice little diagram and location for the fuse you looking for.

oh yeah, get a needle nose and a flash light

well, i got a 5gen, i think it would probably be the fuses under the dash. I got my car used so i have no diagram.

I guess i go to look for a diagram then, or if ne one out there with a diagram wants to scan it and post it up or something like that, that would be great

what do u consider the main lights?

The lights i need to deal with are tailights, parking, and speedo and the button for the emergency warning lights

Are any of those what you consider main lights

Damn, while i am at this i must as well see if i can get my third brake light and door lights working, which havent worked since i bought the car

Well, i found 2 blown fuses, i blue 15 amp and green 40 amp

Well, i got a new 15 amp fuse and 40 amp fuse. I put the 15 amp fuse in and turned on my lights and i heard a pop, so i knew it has blown. I had 4 more fuses, so i tried again and it did the same thing. Why might it be doing that?

I'm gonna put the 40 amp fuse in the morning because it needed a little modification to fit into the slot. The one i took out also had been cut to fit into there, so i guess it has been changed before.

lol you can put a bigger fuse in and that will fix your problem because you will be ripping out every bit **** that's after that fuse after you fry everything

youve got a short somewhere you need to find it
