Default VAFC question

i am gettin a code for my vtec and i heard that if the vafc is not wired properly that would cuase the problem, i have had my car tuned so i dont want to loose all my settings on my vafc but if i disconnect the harness where the two pieces of it meet would i be able to see if the vafc is causing the problems and not have my settings erased?

if you can adjust your vtec crossover point, then it has to be hooked up properly
if you can't adjust it, then you have the signal wires wrong.....maybe backwards or just not connected well...the vtec wire goes to the in wire, then the out wire goes to the ecu...just checking that shouldn't hurt.....or you could always just write down your specs and reset them...not hard
