Heat Issues w. Darton Sleeves and/or Block Guards
Guys, I'm new here so bear with me. I did a search and didn't find much on this board, but I read somewhere that running Darton sleeves (with the built in a block guard) or having a block guard cause over-heating issues on the street, because:
1. the water jacket pathway is furher restricted and not as much water flows through.
2. the iron sleeves retain a lot more heat then the aluminum ones do.
my question is how valid is this? how do you fix this problem? Would an upgraded radiator and fan be a solution to this problem? Is anybody running sleeve or a block guard and having a problem with heat issues?

Is this on an S2000? I have Darton sleeves on my ITR and I have no overheating problems. I have a stock radiator and slimline fans. I run over 12psi of boost and see hp in ranges over 350whp with no overheating issues. The only time I have heard of some issues is with some of the civic guys running the stock single core radiators, but that is fixed using a better single core like a fluidyne or Koyo. Hope this info helps. If it is in an S2000 the stock radiator will be more than enough to provide cooling and you shouldn't have any problems.
