how long does it take to install a differential... well just put the tranny back together and put it back in? because i had to get my quaife repaired (broke an axel inside the diff) and the shop says its going to take 12 hours to put the tranny back together and install it back in the car.

I agree... I know it doesnt take that long but the shop is going to put it off as long as posible becuase they owe me $800 for screwing up an axel install that caused the diff to break. (and no i didnt pay 800 to get the axel put in.)

 

took ME 12 hours the first time I ever did anything major with my Integra and that was the LSD / clutch install.

anyone with any car experience can do it in that long,
half as long with a friend helping,
and a third as long with a pro in the mix.

 

takes 30mins to 2 hours

 

They're probably just quoting you from Chilton's...and adding a few hours on there.
