if i add a huge amount of more air, will my stock CPU add the fuel?
i have a 92 civic VX HB, and i have a chance to get a 92 civic EX throttle body and intake dirt cheap. it bolts and plugs up from sight. if it will go on it, will the computer make the nessecary fuel to air changes without me doing anything else?
circle track, no low range drag. if it can boost my high end range, please let me know.
AIR=HP if the CPU will pump the GAS

That's not a huge amount of air. But to answer your question, yes, the ECU will adjust. You may have to pull the ecu fuse to reset it, though I'm not sure if that's the exact procedure. Either way, it will adjust itself in time, or you can reset it.
it isnt a small amount. the ex intake will flow probly 2 1/2 times more air and it is on a 1.6L. my vx is a 1.5L. the vx is about 1 1/2 inces dia. and i think the ex is 3 inches dia.
hahaha its still a small amount, there is no way you are gonna flow 2x+ more air. its not possible. you would have to compress it into the cylinder. a larger intake, IM, TB all allows air to flow in easier, giving you a small amount of extra air.
a large amount is forced induction.

hee hee. it does have kindve a ram air. i cut around where the headlight assembly went, got a air box and air tube off 91 dx civic, cut the front of the box out, and added some sheet metal forming a funnel. i made a few laps with the cone out then put it back in, and i cant feel the difference, but the stop wacth showed 1 tenth a second increase. which adds up to 2 seconds in a 20 lap race.
the ecu will compensate and as kamin sayd its a small amount of air your adding. As far as hp, depending on your mods, it wont make a difference

i forgot, you have to remeber i aint drag racing. that makes sense what you said about airflow. and if it helps the motor breath easier, that is still good. but thanks, i guess i will get the intake. it inst very much money to cry about considering how much you guys probly spent on yours. even if it is a little better on top end, $40 bucks is cheap hp.

That isn't really ram air for the way our engines are built. Most people have the misconception that ram air is having the intake opening in the front of the car, when it really has more to do with resonate waves in the intake manifold bouncing off closed intake valves and amplifying their energy.

hee hee, yeah i know it isnt ram air. but it did make a noticeable difference on dirt tracks. i moved the hatch cover bolt into the hatch glass bolts holes the week i built the air intake system for it, to make it look better. instead of a cover turned up, it looked like a spoiler. the car run enough different that the track officals made us take the hatch cover off, istead of looking under the hood cause they thought that was what made the difference. is that silly?
