@ the same boost w/ the same set up the gsr will be faster in every instance. GSR can also support a bigger turbo as well.
a turbo'd gsr vs. a turbo'd ls running same setup yaddi, yaddi yaddi...same boost...the gsr will surely win. maybe except in a burnout contest...

There should be no question in your mind about which one you should use, all you have to think about is which one is gonna put out more power in the end and obviously that is gonna be the GSR. Any 1.8 Vtec or Ls/Vtec is gonna be alot better then a non Vtec motor.

if u just want a fast daily driver, set em both up right and u will have a fast street car. doesn't really matter until u get in the 300+ range.

look at the thread..the gsr is OBVIOUSLY the better motor handsdown....

I get the point of honda tech, and its to have inteligent tech related conversations in the honda comunity, unfortunatly, there is non of that going on in this thread.

You got a lot of variables in this one! But, like you've been posting, GSR VS. LS @ same boost? In the way it sounds, GSR. However, everyone is right, LOTS of variables...
Yet if your thinking to buy a motor/turbo combo, I'd say LS non-VTEC. The compression is MUCH better for turbos. Your turbo is FORCING air in, you want lower compression so you can fill up those 4 cylinders with as much air/fuel as possible. Stock wise, the LS can handle more boost initially, but when you start cranking boost up over 10psi, modifications are needed for reliability and durability.
Plus, turbos and higher compressions don't often work well together if you just bolt things together. Detonation (knock) is BAD. The LS's lower stock compression will make things easier to work with if you are just slapping a turbo onto the motor.

your right if you never plan on building a block.
ls = 89mm stroke, and 9.1? compression, doesnt have vtec
Ls are very cheap.
gsr = 87mm stroke, and 10.0:1 compression, has vtec
Gsrs arent very cheap
GSR will Yield more power though. Gotta pay to play.
