Default Damn, not a good day for my car...

Last week I started school ago. So now I drive my car a lot, its like a 1 hour (on a good day, which is not often) round trip and I cover a decent amount of highway. Fine with me but my car disagrees. Its getting beaten on a lot now. So today I am leaving school ironically after my Brakes and Suspension class where we tested pad thickness and stuff like that. So I am driving and notice a terrible sound like I am dragging a steel pipe behind my car or something. So I get home and I of course have pads on my mind and my rear driver side is fried, now its grinding on the mounting part of the pad. So then I also notice my engine sounding like its carbed. It still drives fine so I know nothing is really wrong. But I have a feeling my header bolts are loosening. Not to mention I have a massive crack across my windshield from a rock smashing it the other day. My car also really needs an oil change. I've never changed it since I've done my swap. And I am broke as hell to. Poor car.

jeez, change the oil, it's $10 if you do it yourself.

One rule of thumb with cars; if something doesn't sound right, fix it, it's only gonna get worse.

Good luck with the car, it sounds like you need it.

Yeah man, I feel you. You should talk to Raene... his car has been giving him no love lately either... Nothing but problems. I guess our beloved 88-91's are getting old and showing their age. Keep your head up

It sounds like some old *** Chevy Chevelle. With the gurgle gurgle sounds they make.

Anyway...

I got some nice Wagner pads from the parts store and put those on, easy enough. Than I went to the dealer and got a new filter and washer and changed my oil. I tightend some of my exhaust bolts down but it didn't seem to help the weird carb like sound.

Its not that old. Maybe still under a year. But like I said the car drives fine so that is whats weird. But it would sort of make sense that fuel is being slopped into the rail instead of pumped correctly. Maybe I will change it this weekend for the hell of it.

Ehh I doubt its a valve. The car runs fine and still has all the power it had before. I'd bet it would run really shitty with a stuck valve. Plus how would that be possible unless the valve broke or the lobe on the cam broke off.

Lack of oil, worn out spring, bad adjustments... The cam only forces the valve open, and the spring brings it closed again. I had crappy valve settings on my Isuzu, and it did the blop blop sound (especially when downshifting at low rpms). I did a valve job and it was gone after that.

I really don't know what your car is doing, but I'm shooting an idea out there...

Nah I don't think its anything even that worse. Cuz at higher RPMS the sound sort of goes away.

I'm sure I'll figure it out eventually.
