1.5 L +supercharge?
im going to be getting a supercharger soon and was wondering how long my D15B2 would hold up. right now its running obd1 with a z6 head and mpfi on a p28. what i wanna know is whats a safe amount of boost to run on it if its a daily driver. i dont want to invest in rods and pistons because i cant afford that much down time. but i can invest in a aftermarket ECU, hondata or something like it. any suggestions?
Everyone's gonna tell ya to go turbo. You'll be able to do one with more potential and less money if you do a basic 'junkyard turbo' setup. There's a ton of guys including myself that have done junkyard turbo setups, so there's a bunch of info out there. Besides, superchargers are just too expensive per money/hp ratio.
Either way, the d15 should be just fine if you run stock boost (usually just 6-8 psi) as long as the fuel is there. That's where the Hondata comes in. s200 with boost would be just fine to use. Even something like the hack or chipping your ecu. I'm a fan of chipping.

i would have gone turbo but i came across this kit for really cheap and it will serve the same purpose as turbo. since i wont go above 8-9 psi. with a turbo it would be too tempting to up the boost. also i want my car to be different and ive never heard of anyone supercharging a 1.5 liter mini me 4 door.

I've also come across an amazing deal for the JRSC for the D16. But the car its on right now is an AWD wagovan. Bone stock wagovan other than the supercharger. 4psi.... Stock intake and exhaust. The guy let me drive it, and the car was very quick. 8k miles... and the A6 that it is on has held up this far with over 200k miles (with a full rebuild at 175K). Just so your B2 is running right, and fully operational, hehe, it should hold up just fine. Or should I say, your D15Z6. heh, good one
I'm going to be putting mine on a B7, with custom ram air intake (with heat sheilds
) and hopefully soon a 3" exhaust. A lot of people have advised me to get a water induction system, or the NX Ntercooler.

1.5L + Supercharge = BOOM!
Heh, well let's put it this way - the D15 crank is weaker than the D16. It's not going to be able to handle as much boost as any other D16 bottom end.

i understand that its weaker but keep in mind i only have 78000 miles and take car of my engine, oil and coolant changes. the head gasket is about 500 miles old but not because the old one blew same thing with timing belt and spark plugs. what i want to know is will i be able to drive this thing on the street with 91 octane for more than a couple days?
I rather have a Supercharger than a Turbo. Its easier and less complicated. Bolt it on and go. It may not make as much power but its good enough.
Though I don't trust Jackson Racing, I hear bad things about them.

Dun Dun!! What kind of stories?????
The idea I like about superchargers is you don't have to wait for the spool of a turbo... Overall I think turbo's are better, especially for everyday driving. But yes, very complicated, and if you don't know much about the settings and crap, then you are screwed. Either that, or your engine is...

Basically that you will make use of the warranty on them several times.
