Engine Management Questions-Goal 400HP?
Have not heard too much engine management.
Wanted to know how the AEM EMS system, and the Hondata systems are for 400HP.
MAybe i will need to run a Tech2 or DIS system though. Do all of these have Fuzylogic or like an autoprogramming mode, I know the AEM EMS does?

AEM EMS all the way ... don;t believe the hype that you need fuzzylogic and autoprogramming and tinkerbell with the pink shoes
FAST, DFI, AEM, etc.

both hondata and aem will support that hp level easily. do a creator search on username tony1 and look at the hp levels he tunes using hondata.
I've heard the AEM EMS is used in the Steph's Rear Wheel Drive AEM civic coupe. I guess it can control what Im pushin then.
Whats the difference between the two the street and the race. I think the race you need to make a harness for it. ANy other differences in tuning or the sensors that are run?

I don't really like Hondata all that much on higher boost FI cars but it does still work... Brian's EJ6 runs it and he makes 565whp... If it were me I would either go with FAST or even Motec... The Motec M4 system is perfect for a street car... It may just be a bit of overkill for 400whp... Just my $0.02
What is the difference between the race and the street ems. The street ems is $1200 and can run over 30psi it says. The race is $700 more($1900) and then you need to run a custom made harness, does the race come with the basemaps also?
I only wat to buy a management system once, do not want to make a mistake and be limited by the management system if i run more boost!

well do you plan on having a 7 second car? the race package only gives you the ability to run a variety of sensors. when the stock ones will take you just as far. I would stick with the AEM, or look into a haltek.

no difference, the processors and inputs are all the same, race just has own harness whereas plug/play does not. The features are remarkable on those EMS units ... very nice product, to think I have no association with AEM and give them plugs like that.

I've seen an the AEM 7 second civic it has individual coil packs on top of the spark plugs. Is this DIS type with a trigger wheel on the crank. Can you run DIS with individual coil packs on the AEM EMS unit?If so with the street and the race EMS or only the race one.
