Default Is this a good deal?

Hey, I can pick up a GSR (us spec) for 1,000 right now, is that a good deal? It doesn't come with a tranny or the ecu and it has 28K miles on it. If I where to get it, what tranny would I want to put on there and how much would a tranny cost. And what ecu would I want to buy, and how much would that be? I have a 89 crx si and I want to use a hydro tranny with hasports new product. Thanks in advance.

so you can get a gsr w/ motor, interior, etc. Just no tranny or ECU? All for $1000? And the car only has 28k on it? Buy it or I will............

edit- or do you mean you can get a B18C for $1k? either way it's a good deal.

i think hes jus talkin about the motor.

i saw its a DAMN good idea. a grand isnt all that much, but make sure you know what your getting into there is alot more to a swap (especially a gsr) then gettin a motor tranny and ecu and putting it in. if you got the spare cash, pick it up. if not then i will buy it next thursday lol.

Make sure the damn thing isn't stolen. Have the Serial #s run through the DMV first... otherwise you'll be in deep ****.

I am talking about just the motor, not the car The motor isn't stolen, a friend had it, then sold it to another friend and he just lost his job so he needs money badly.

Then if you are absolutely sure of the engines history, and it RUNS, what are you wasting time for........... Go buy it NOW..............lol
Before someone else does.
EDIT You would need a cable tranny and update the car to OBD1 and get a P28 ECU and an OBD1 dizzy.

You ARE correct sir. However hydros are more $$$ than cables and you have to buy the kit$$$. AND, all the "on car" hardware and assemble it. Good Luck. It only pays really if your car already is hydro. IMHO

Well, I'm going to have to buy new motor mounts any ways, so I might as well just spend the $549 for the mounts hyrdo tranny kit from hasport.. How much more is it for a hyrdo compared to a cable tranny? I figure a hydro tranny would cost around 500 dollers or so? right? And what is this "on car hardware" you are talking about?

Hydraulic lines and MC for the clutch and the associated brackets. I'm not sure about it though, I have a cable trans. Hydro prolly a little more than $500 thats what cables go for, around NJ anyway. lol
