Default OBD1 conversion code question.

Well, im trying to get my car to start after converting my 89crx si minime to obd1 using a p28 ecu and blown90hatch's coversion harness. Im getting a code, but only after cranking it over for a while, when i flip my switch, it flashes 4.5 times. The 5 th time it flashes, it just barely comes on, so my question is, do i count that last flash. So would it be a code 4 or 5. 4 would be a vacuum leak. It says intake manifold pressure. A code 5 would be TDC sensor? or something like that. I have my crankshaft and camshaft pulley's as close to TDC as i could get them at the same time.

On the intake manifold, i left off the one nut on the bottom middle stud. I just couldnt get it on with out taking the head off. I would think that would be the problem though, but only if im getting a code 4.

Any help is appreciated. THanx,.

update:

after cranking over the engine for a coupel seconds, then turning the key to off, the car gives an audible puff, or more of a "PUT" out the exhaust. I also put the other bolt onto the intake mani, so thats not the problem. I still get the code, even after resetting the ecu. But that noise sounds like somethign is building up, and then releasing when i take the key out. Weird, need help.

Oh yeah, im using a z6 head on my a6 block, p28 ecu, z6 dizzy, 4 wire o2, stock a6 map sensor, stock a6 intake manifold and everything else stock. Thanx.

just from description of the flashign i say you have a code 41, not 4, not five.

the long flash is the tens, the short flash is the ones. you can find code break downs on the net if you search.

enjoy.

Oh, well, after searching, i found that a code 41 is the o2 sensor heater wires. . Well, i switched them around and didnt get anything. Will a car not start if the o2 isnt connected right. My buddies civic ex ran with the o2 sensors unplugged, but i dont know why mine wont. Im waiting for someone to come over and help me check my spark.

You need to check the firing order, check the TDC setting, etc. Worry about the O2 code later.

You really should get the helm manual for your car.
And did you have the timing belt off for any reason?
