Default Not a good sound coming from Trans ? HELP !

This morning I was on my way to work and I heard a Tin Can like sound coming from my trans, I got off the gas and it went away. Got back on the gas it came back. My speed was at around 80-85 and that is just about the only time it does it. If anybody knows what is going on PLEASE help, I am going to NOPI next week and I need to get it fixed. Thanks

I would imagine if it was from the tranny, and it was a tin can sound, you might be able to tell a difference with the way the car drove.. Definently check heat shields like said above..

does it rattle at idle? - how can you know if its transmission at that speed? usually you'll have noticable rattle idle as well... maybe something is loose in your shifter area.. where is the sounds coming from? engine bay or underneath the car or shifter area?

My second guess would be your clutch pressure plate,..you may have bent or broken some teeth on the diaphram...
