oil light blinking, but has good oil pressure?
just as title says. ill have more info as soon as i can take a look at it.
i was driving, it started flashing so i pulled over. i put in some oil and it still kept blinking, but my oil pressure gage was reading normal, almost too high once i added oil.

mine did that about a month ago when i was racing. i was going about 90, when mine flashed. i have not idea why my pressure was fine as well. does anyone have any info.
the signal wire on your stock oil pressure sensor might be coming loose, or the sensor itself is going bad.
I have an OEM sensor if you want it.

i don't like the way that sounds "almost to high" ?? if you have a blockage some where it can cause you oil light to come on if there is some foriegn matter blocking the oil sending unit, and that would acount for "almost to high" what does that mean?? now i know the seding unit trips the light if oil is to low, but maybe it will if oil press is to high, only a guess cannot confirm? (don't spread misinformaton)
you havew an aftermarket gauge, ? what does it read at idle and then after you out more oil in.

ok the oil pump only has 10 miles on it. i just replaced it.
the aftermarket oil pressure gage is tapped rght on the oil pump, where i tapped the feed line for the turbo. this kind of makes me worry about the blockage comment. maybe the oil pump is pumping, but there is blockege so the engine isn't seeing enough pressure. wouldn't that cause really high pressure.
one of the problems was when i poped my hood, the dipstick was gone.(dont ask) there was oil on the engine so i thought maybe some came out. i added some and the light still kept blinking. i was only a 1/4 mile away from the exhaust shop, so i dropped it off there to have the dp made.
do you think that it would blink from the oil temp? it was a hot day, and the turbo was dumping right out the side, blasting the block w/heat.
well see more when i go too get the car today.
