Default spark plug wire question

I recently put a set of MSD super conductor 8.5 wires on my R. They seem to work fine, I can tell the difference. The only problem I have is that the wire comes of the plug after high rpm use. I don't understand why they are doing this, I mean the wire "snaps" on the plug really tight. Any suggestions as to why the wire's are coming off the plugs will be greatly appreciated. Also what RPM does a 2001 Type R idle at fully warm with the A/C off. Mine has 36,000 miles and I swear the RPM's dropped at idle. It idle's anywhere between 720 and 960 - it fluctuates constantly at idle. I just don't remember the tach dropping down to 720 before. If any of these topics have been posted before, I'm sorry. I tried doing the search and could'nt find anything. thanks for any help on this.

i suggest to use stock oem sumitomo plug wires - not one problem with these.
did you use dielectric grease?

for idle.. when you say it fluctuates constantly.. like it will jump from 700-1000 withing 2-3 seconds? or at times its 700 and other times its 1000? if so, then 700 should be with no load.. and 1000 when radiator fans come on.. although it should be 800 (+/-50) with no load and 1050 with a/c or fans on (+/-50), and 850(+/-50) if EVAP system is purging the canister. - according to helms manual.

check if your plugs are on tight 18 ftlb and for the low idle clean the throttlebody and then check what happends. if still low try a valve adjustment.!

First throw those wires away, if they are anything like the Magna****** dont bother using them. I have a set of Magnacores and they pop out just like your MSDs, get some stock wires.

As for the idling, what vtec.dc2 said.

Now that I think of it, I had the valves adjusted by the local acura dealer about 2 weeks ago. I guess I'll take it back and have them check it out and see if the idle RPM is correct or not. Thanks for the reminder.

No, I did not use the grease. I took your advise and actually used the dielectric grease and the wires seem to stay put now, I took the motor to about 8200 numerous times on the interstate and like I said - the wires are now staying on. Thanks for the info.
