NGK Plug wire repair.
I have been having a problem lately with my eg, From Idle if I quickly step on the gas I have a slight miss on one cylinder, also at lower rpm's while driving. I pulled my plug wires out and inspected them and noticed that on my NO. 1 plug wire right at the boot that fits over the plug there is a small crack with a little carbon spot on it. I lightly sanded the crack and put some dielectric grease on it and then wrapped it with a little bit of electrical tape.
I was just wondering how long this little repair would work. I have had the plug wires for about a year now and I just dont want to get another set because I did a resistance check on all of them and they all ohm out at under 6000 ohms. The plug wires themselves are fine but the hard plastic cover on the one is slightly cracked. BTW the repair worked and the car runs fine now. I just dont know how long it will last.

Thanks Earl, I wasnt planning on having it last a long time but If I have to reapply the tape everyonce in a while, its worth it. That way I wont have to buy another set of wires. I guess I could just use the old OEM plug wire but then They wouldnt match. Oh well I guess I'm just a little ****.
