what engine oil do you use?
I am just curious because I am getting a JDM B18c1
motor installed this week due to hydrolocking my stock gsr motor. I always ran Mobil 1 synthetic. My friend uses Royal Purple in his Type R civiv hybrid, and I was considering since I will be kind of starting new with this engine.....what do you all use?

I agree with Teken. After your initial dino-oil period, I would highly suggest running pure synth in the engine. Chemically, it's leaps and bounds better than the cheap petroleum based oils. Look at Conklin oil (http://www.conklin.com), Mobil 1, Castrol Syntec, Amsoil, or Redline.
I have used both Castrol Syntec and Mobil 1 synthetic in my turbo GSR.
I happen to like Castrol Syntec better than Mobil1 because it made my car run better. Also the Castrol oil always seems to look cleaner with less gunk than the Mobil 1. Not that this makes a major gain in big performance but the Castrol is definitely a big plus in my book for making my car run smoother. I highly recommend especially FI Hondas.

I'm using Mobil 1 0w 30. It doesn't burn off, even in the triple digit texas heat. My oil level has stayed about the same after 1000 miles. I was using 5w 30 previously
I haven't had any problems and the engine seems to rev freely with the lower # oil.

Mobil 1.... depending on the weather where you are, 5W30 for colder avg weather and 10W30 for warmer/hot weather...
My partners and I use 10W30 here in FL, he's running 75,000 m + and one of 'em running 170,000 m + with no problem mon !!
I switched to Mobil 1 at 35,000 and have not looked back since ! The engine is much happier with it.....

Amsoil Series 2000, it's better than any other synthetic I have ever tried... and it lastes longer too. check it out at http://www.amsoil.com
I use the series 2000 in my tranny as well... smoother shifts b/c of it
good luck

Mobil1 5W-30 was pretty good stuff for the time that I used it.
This wouldn't apply to you, but I use Valvoline Max Life since my car has 110k miles on it.

i used mobil 1 5w-30 for a while and then i switched to valvoline maxlife because it's formulated for high mileage engines, its cheaper, performs just like a synthetic, and i change my oil every 3000 miles anyways
Mobil1 5-30 synthetic.
I knew a guy about 10 years ago who changed the oil in his spanky new turbo MR2 every month(and not because he drove it a lot).
