Well I am done with the swap and was wondering what material u guys used to fill the access hole for the cables and the shifter area so rain or ect. doesn;t enter or what would be the best material to use ? Currently I am running open header until I get an exhaust and its killing me smoke coming into the car... Thanks guys...

all i did was take an aluminum sheet metal and shoved it in there with a few bolts but hot air still gets thru. i am now considering buying some thermotec insulating mat and slapping it on.

I used two layers of dynomat to cover up the hole and the bottom of the shift assemby. I got the heavy duty dynomat with the aluminum backing. It just sticks on and you don't have to use a heat gun to apply it. Keeps ALOT of heat out and reduces the exhaust noise .

I have a metal template I have cut out using cardboard and will use some high heat glue to put it on.

Center console is also going in to cover it all up.

i usually use one of the beer cans consumed from doing the swap to cover the hole

you get drunk and you get a cover...you can't beat that!

Hey man, A friend of mine did an auto to manual conversion swap in his EG Civic, and he made a cover out of sheet ABS. I know a guy that bought some like 1/2 inch thick in a 4x8 sheet for like $18.00 That would be good material I think. Use that, cut to the bolt pattern, and then caulk gun it in with GE SiliconeII from Lowe's or Home Depot.

All the Ideas sound great to me man.
