Default NEED TURBO CIVIC HELP

Have 93 dx 1.5L d15 motor with junkyard kit. Runs fine, starts fine, no engine lights. Burns oil out exhaust hardcore smokey when idleing but not bad when spooling. What could be problem? Everythign appears hooked up right, compression is perfect. When first put it on it blew oil out the blow off valve, but that was because we found out oil pressuer was rediculously high and turned it down. Let me know what we should check for and look for. homemadeturbo didnt help at all...so i came here for knowledge. thanks

If it's an old turbo, the seals are probably gone, and it needs to be rebuilt. Pull off your inlet filter and see if there's any oil seeping out on the compressor side.

I agree with inspyral, sound like you need to change that turbo or get it rebuilt, but take it out first and inspect the turbo.

take off the turbo since you think you have to rebuild it anyway. Then run the car NA just to make sure its not your engine. Most junkyard turbos arnt worth rebuilding. Check for shaft play.
