When I went to go putt my valve cover on after painting it, all of the bolts tightened except for one...........whick turns and turns but never gets tighter! Please help

if the inner thead bolt is stripped..........how difficult is it to replace?

 

becareful with valve cover bolts remeber its only a 10mm

 

ah those top crown bolts are a BITCH to get off if they are stripped, this is most likely the problem, I stripped mine once overtightning those bolts, you have to be REAL careful tightening them, I had to cut mine off carefully with a dremel tool. Good luck.

heres what I suggest doing. Try to take it off, it IS stripped, if you can get it off replace it ASAP.

I don't have a torque wrench, what is a safe-level to tighten these bolts? I ave a feeling I over tighened them

 

I just use a 10mm socket on a 1/4" drive. With this you can tighten the bolts as much as possible and they shouldn't be overtightened.
