Default 92 Honda Accord: Power Window Suxs

My left rear powerwindow motor has stopped working on me, does anyone know how to safely manually move the window up? I've got the paneling all off, but I don't see any easy way to manipulate anything behind the metal door. The motor makes a clicking noise when you try and turn the motor on via the drivers side door or the actual left rear windoww controller. The motor will get hot but nothing happens. Anyone have experience with this? Or suggestions?

well to get the window try to disconnect the motor from the regulator. im not to sure if they r seprate, but sounds like youre going to have to replace them. have you tried to have someone push the switch up while you pull the window up? could be stuck on the weatherstripping...

mine I was just able to push up with a lot of force (the first time), after that it was relatively easy.....it sucked, and it's expensive as #@$@ to fix, but you'll want to get it done soon, and done right (suck up the $$$).

it is easy to take out and replace - and the parts are not all the much - i have had to do all 4 windows on ym 91 wagon. I can get new set-ups for about 100 per door. And also easy to install - even for a frist timer

If the motor is clicking when you use the switch, get a hammer(small) or wrench and tap it while you are holding the switch in the up posistion. Often, the bushings in the motor is what wears out, causing the armature to bind. If you give it a bang, sometimes it will start moving again. If that fails, then you will have to fix it; pull the glass, then the regulator/motor asm, then RandR the motor. Either way, you'll have to fix it eventually, if you get it up with the bang-on-the-motor trick, you have to leave it up, and is therefore useless.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I tried the tapping motor thing for awhile but didn't work :\ I'm contemplating just trying to force it up and leaving it there, I'm not looking forward to buying a motor I'll hardly ever use (I don't sit back there, and usually drive by myself).

yup... i have a 94 accord and have replaced both driver side and passenger side window regulators. it was no big deal though. bought it and replaced it. replacing it is easy and saves you some $$. in the mean time a friend and i slid the window up and held it with suction cups. they stayed in place very well for about a week. but i wouldn't recommend doing that and daily driving your car. i had my car parked in the garage most of that time and only used my car for short distance trips.
