best buy won't install my remote start becuz my car is 5spd, WTF?
Installer said he won't install the remote start becuz I'm 5speed and that Best Buy doesn't want to be held liable for leaving my car in gear and remote starting it later on, wtf?
The guy said he'll install remote start and that he'll leave it up to me to bypass the clutch, wtf does that mean? basically he said remote start will work as long as I have the clutch in.. means I obviously have to be in the car, aka defeating the whole point of remote start lol
Is this something I or somebody else willing can change later on?

the reason they don't wanna do it would be extremely easy to find if you looked through a few of the posts, if the car is in gear and you remote start it and it just so happens to hit someone, not only are you ******* for leaving it in gear, but best buy's fucked for doing it on a manual transmission

sounds like a pretty brave installer if you ask me.. risking his job and **** for your car.. its easy to bypass the switch, all you have to do is ground out the switch..im not telling you how to do it even tho ive done it SEVERAL times.. the risk isnt worth it, the car can and will drive into whateer is in front of it when remote started in gear.. i would never install that alarm into a customers car 1 the manuafacter will not support it, 2 could get fired for it..

Just have him do whatever he said he could and then bypass the clutch yourself... Bypassing the clutch should be pretty easy... Just search on google or something and find a how to.. Shouldnt take longer than 5 mins. Just make sure you dont leave your car in gear because then you'll be in some ****...
uh.. honda clutch switchs are just 2 wires pretty much. It's a switch, it either *connects* the two wires or disconnects them
(btw that was a hint without telling you directly to figure out how to bypass the two wires that just get connected when you push the clutch down to the floor).
Anyhow, i know my prelude has two switchs on the clutch, not sure if hte Civic does or not. One reads (for some reason) when the clutch is started to be pushed down... only need to move hte peddle about an inch. the other is back more towards the firewall IIRC and it's the one that reads when the peddle is down the whole way, which when it is pressed teh whole way *it allows you to start your car*. Now I'm not going to tell you if it's the first switch or the second switch that you need to work with, but i'm sure you'll figure that out

Nope its not ghetto
. On '88 rexes/civics there is no clutch bypass switch
present. As for the key switch its just worn out.

You have got to be kidding right. In this day and age of "plausible deniablity"
waivers have as much worth as **** paper. Some "1 800 We Sue Them"
lawyer will find a way around it....
