if you broke an axle your car wouldn't move, so It's not a broken axle then. But you might have destroyed the CV shafts from having bad wheel hop. Or you toasted a ball joint, either upper or lower. Grab the wheel that the noise comes from with your hands at the 9 and 3 position and pull one hand towards you and the other away, alternatly. If the wheel feels solid, your tie rod end is good. Now put your hands at the 12 position of the wheel and shake in and out, if you feel the wheel move, then you have a bad upper or lower ball joint. HTH

Yup. Most likely a CV joint. $$$

Clicking is usually a bad CV joint. Verify this and goto Napa to buy a new axle. There are lots of good howto's on this forum.

New axle @ napa = $70.00 w/ core (give or take).

Sounds like you need to change the CV boot, if it only makes a clicking sound.
