Default Urgent Question: About rear disc brake conversion!

I got all the parts, and I am in the mood to do this. I have a complete 99 Si rear end, 99 Si prop valve, and 99 Si master cylinder.

I have the different proportioning valve......must I use it? Why? Does the pressure going to the front and rear brakes change so much when doing a rear disc conversion.

I want to know cuz removing the valve is probably going to be a beeaaach.

You should use it. Before you start, you should buy the right tool to remove those darn brake line nuts. Stripping just one would ruin your week. There is a difference in pressures between a disc brake system and a drum brake. To be safe, you should just replace it. You don't want to slam on the brakes and have the rear come around, would you.....(actually, that may be fun).....

By the way, do you have your stock o2 sensor, the one with 5 or 6 wires?

Ok. It doesn't look all that hard afterall. I took a look at it today, and the prop valve isn't too far down the firewall.

I did get the whole rear suspension off, and started bolting up the Si rear suspension when I noticed the lower arm was bent! So I decided to use my original arm...while taking the hub assembly off the lower arm the connecting bolt busted! *****. Now I probably won't finish till tuesday when I have another day off.

Oh yea, I sold the 5 wire wideband O2 sensor a while back......I am curious, why did you want it?

I wanted to see if I can make a wideband o2 meter with temp correction. That would have been the perfect o2 sensor.........

You don't need to swap the prop valve. The 99 Si and the 97 HB use the same valve, so you shouldn't need to change it on your coupe.
