Does anyone hear a clicking noise??
I have 2000 civic 5spd... and at a stop, when i accelerate or reverse, i hear a clicking noise near the front axial area. I was wandering what's wrong and if anyone else has that problem... The honda dealer guy says its normal but i never hear it from my friend's civic or my brother's integ. I kno automatics do not make that noise but is that normal for manuals? Any info will help.... If u have a civic Tell me if u hear the clicking noises or not. Thanks in advance
Possible CV joints... look under car either by the wheel or tranny. Look for black or green grease. If no grease present on either side. Look for a torn cv boot, if that's not present look for anything that might be caught to the front end.
i hear it sometimes when turning, but only when i'm at a stop and accelerate. Or if i'm like over 3000 rpm and just suddenly let go of the gas, i hear it too. I think i started to notice the noise after i put change stock tires to rims. But not too sure. Dealer mech guy said it was normal. Hmmm... i should go to another dealer and get it checked out b4 warrenty over.
I would think that the problem would be the Front Pads shifting within the caliper bracket.. Try using a brake lube on the front pads where it would make contact w/ the bracket.. I hear this same complaint on a regular basis w/ newer cars because there ain't enough dirt/dust buildup to dampen the sound of the pads moving around... I wouldn't lose any sleep over it...
