chattery vavles, but still within specs?????
i swapped a 1st gen b16 in my EF in may of this year. at the same time i did a valve adjustment, .007 on the intake .009 on the exhaust. the motor runs perfect, but lately ive noticed that the valves are ticking pretty good, so the other day i checked them when the motor was bone cold, theyre still at .007 and .009. anyone know whats going on? any cause for concern? motor still runs very strong.
BTW, i have an AEM CAI, DC 4-1 header, custom 2" exhaust, 2000 SI cams, 2000 SI intake manifold, besides that, the motor is completely stock.

Thats a good question, I set mine .007 all the way around. thats what some honda guru told me for best results, and they still have some tick. Does anyone know the logic on the tick???Fuel injectors maybe??
My friend had a valve adjustment done on his 98 gsr at acura and when he got it back the valves were even louder than before. It's normal I guess.
Take a look at your LMA's. If you grab the center rocker arm you shouldn't be able to move it up and down. If you have a bad LMA, the center rocker will move and rattle. At least that's where my problem is.
I agree with ChiBOy, the problem is the LMA's if everything else is to specs, we had this problem with shop car and it really didn't make a difference on the track or on the dyno, it is just a annoying thing to listin to.
It's my understanding that Honda tappets are just sorta talkative. My car (a 98 Teg RS) is in fine shape, but it's still rattly - especially when the engine's cold.
