Default True or False: Alcohol to pass smog.

I have a friend who said that he used a pint of alcohol for each half gallon of gas to pass his smog. I wasnt there to see if thats what he did or anything and it was on a ford truck. So im wondering if it works with Honda's and if it will damage the car?

Fords can just use some IsoHeet. It removes water out of the fuel and burns hotter to help light off the cat faster.

You can use that as well HOWEVER, only run it on that one tank cause it does start to damage the Catalytic converter.

87 octane and a bottle of iso-heet works great for me.

Never heard of that before. Does alcohol burn cleaner than gas?

alcohol mixxed with gas lowers the octane which gives it a more complete burn.

BTW Iso-Heet is form alcohol.

Just get Iso-Heet from Kragen. its like $0.99 a bottle.

go to google and type iso-heet. its basically a additive to remove water from your gas tank. for us modded motor guys, it lowers the octane which like I said before bla bla bla. .. ..

before you go to ref......

put some good gas and drive around with it.....gets the engine and everything hot

then roll into the ref and while you wait, leave the car on....

be prepare to be ask for paper work for your ecu that matches your motor

Iso-heet or whatever sounds interesting. Myself, I used MetholHydrate 5:1 mix in fav. of gas. I'm yet to pass my AirCare, but it did nock off 100 Hydrocarbons..

so basically if it lowers the octane then you will be pinging, not good for your engine and definatly does not look good in front of a ref. or is there something im missing here?

Another question, My knock sensor wont throw a code for the low octane right? And about the ECU, i had someone on this board do the swap, and i dont really have any paperwork for the motor, should we just write something that he sold the motor to me and will that be ok?
