I am im the process of buying another '00 Si, but its got some dealer add-on crap on it that i have to get rid of.

First of all are the pinstripes, which are pretty easy to remove with some heat, a credit card, goo-gone and patience, correct??

The second which im not so sure about are the little rubber strips that the dealer put around the fenders and on the edge of the doors . They look like crap but what should i do to get them off? Same process?

Any help would be appreciated. THANKS

 

goo-gone/goof-off + hair dryer should be sufficent to get everything off the car. Whatever won't come off after that should get taken care of by a good wash/wax.

 

I just used a heat gun for the pinstripes, no credit card needed b/c they fall right off you just have to pick them up. I am sure a hair dryer will work just as well. If you heat them up enough the glue behind the pinstripes will come off with the stripe otherwise you will have to get it off. I just used wax to get it off, i think it's safer than goo gone.

The rubber stuff around the doors and fender comes right off, just use wax to clean up behind it. Then your all set. Easy.

i need to do the same thing to my eg, but the pin strips dont look like stickers, it looks like a paint, but its oem, ima try the heat gun also, and the ruber part around the fender comes right off with your hands, i took mines off like that, i dont like that there, it holds dirt and water and salt from snow and that couses the car to rust

 

you dont even need a heat gun. just fingernail and then pulling it off worked for my friend's ek.

 

Use Goof-Off and yer fingrnail man...
