Default turbo ??

just done install my custom turbo for my 93vtec lude today, went for a test drive, turbo spool up fast . i went pass 8000rpm ,check engine light came on, car stall out . i turned off i engine and turned it back on everything was nomal. what happed

my lude
93vtec stock bottom, garret t3/4 turbo,fmu, only 6 psi

how the hell did you go past 8k on a 93 , my guess was that you lost fuel or it got so messed up that it casued you car just to die. i know 4thgens have a fuel cut at 7400, so if some how you took i to 8k and then you ecu fuel cut but the fmu was still trying to keep fuel at a high presure it could have caused something to go wrong.

why 8k?

A regular turbo kit does not require a break in period, and those are words directly from the big dogs out at Drag.

As far as your CEL light, it could be either running lean, misfire, something to do with vacuum lines, loose connection of a sensor(s), or about 10 other things.

I guess the CEL went away after you restart the car and has not come on since, correct?

check engine light came back on when you got in high rpm. my mechanic said it's the map sensor and something to do with the missing link. sound right???
