should i retard my timing by the distributor?
i was curious im tunning the afc hack on my gsr motor with drag III turbo setup and boosint 4 psi but i plan on bumping up to 10 psi shortly, shoudl i retard the timing by turning the distributor?
you're better off getting a boost timing controller of some type that retards timing with respect to boost level. that way you dont loose any power at low boost levels but are still protected at high boost levels. it also allows for a quick turn of a **** if its a hot summer day, cold night, lower or higher octane gasoline. then you just leave the distributor at its stock setting.
so how bout with hondata s200 and tuning? shoudl the tuner be able to pull good SAFE power without having to retard anything?
great so basically if i get hondata s200 w/boost option and a good tuner thats all i will need? no kind of msd or ignition retard system?
you mentioned the afc before, so thats why i sugested the boost timing controller. but yes, if you are willing to spend the money, the best way would be hondata because its the all-in-one solution.
