Default Did the 92-95 5th gen civic coupes come in an "SI" model?

Just wondering, my friend just bought a hooked up 5th gen civic coupe and he says it's an "SI" model. I know the hatchbacks came in Si's but I'm not sure about the coupes.

Your friend is wrong. There were two coupe models, the dx and ex. The si was only available as a hatchback.

teq1816 is absolutely correct. The coupe DID NOT come in a Si model. Only the HB. I hope that I would know, I have a 92 Si HB teeheehee

I don't think there is a difference. They are both D16 Z6. Maybe they have different cams???

Yes, they are both the same enginge, but the Si is the "Sporty" model. The Si comes with things hat the EX does not, like rear disk brakes, stiffer suspension, sun roof, 5-speed, there is more stuff, I just can't remember it all.

the only things the hatchback has that the Ex coupe doesnt is rear disc brakes and stiffer spring rates.... everything else is the same.... and as far as the canadian one goes the EX was the Si yes.... thats why the new Si is called the SIR in canada...

Your still all wrong. The only difference between the Si and the EX is a litle bit of weight and the body. The Si is shorter, but it's a hatch. I have a 94 Ex coupe, and I will be the first too tell you that I have factory rear disc brakes, as well as ABS. We, the Si and the EX, have the same sunroof, same controls, same stock gauges, same power windows, same evrything. Hell, even the size of the corner lenses is the same. The sedan (ferio) has different corners. Anyway, hope that clears things up. It's just a badge.

Hey

I am from canada and have a 95 eg coupe. Mine has rear disk brakes. The only difference between the american(EX) and canadien(SI) is that the american version has power windows and locks whereas (canada) did not get them. Also, I believe the american EX has a rear wipper, and the cdn SI does not. Maybe there is a stiffer spring rate, but that does not compesate for the power locks and windows BOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

Oh ****, i forgot. NO ABS over here... Thank god, Who needs it! Pumping the breaks all the way!

accord55- No, we did not get power windows/locks. We did get power sunroof.

Take care
