Default How To wire del sol aux lights to come on w/ park lights?

Obviously i have a del sol, and i want to wire the aux lights on the bumper to come on with the park lights. How they are now, they only come on with the low beams on, and turn off with the high beams. i dont really care if they stay on with the highs, they arent bright enough to make a difference, but i'd like to have them on with the parks and lows. anyone done this or have a link to a how to for this?

thanks all.

What you have to do is take the switch off. There are two screws that you can see if you look under near where the switch is when you take them out all the switches will come out with the panel. Then you just need to find the power wire (can't remember the color right now) cut it and run a new wire to a power source (i connected mine to a empty spot in the fuse panel) that is either always on or if you can find one to come on with the parking lights (i did mine quick so i didn't take to much time looking) make sure you put a fuse link on the wire and put a fuse in it so you don't hurt somthing

Here is somthing else that i wrote way back in the day

1. Unplug your battery.

2. Take out the two screws above your cluster and pull the panel out.

3. Unplug the aux light wires and cut the one all the way on the right it should be the one that is red with a white stripe.

4. Now you are going to use a splice connector to splice the red wire that goes to the switch and the blue wire.

5. Then block off the old red wire power source with a splice connector.

6. Now cut the blue wire in half and strip the ends and put on the fuse link with splice connectors.

7. Now on the end of the blue wire put on a plug (a non insulated flat male disconect works) for the fuse panel and plug it into the fuse panel

8. Finaly test it and if it works put it all back together if not check for mistakes.

6. Now cut the blue wire in half and strip the ends and put on the fuse link with splice connectors. Cut it where? And what size fuse/wire to use?

7. Now on the end of the blue wire put on a plug (a non insulated flat male disconect works) for the fuse panel and plug it into the fuse panel i got this part

Basically, i am just looking for a bit more detail. I follow what your saying, i just what to be clear on whats going on before i start cutting and splicing. thanks for your help.

there is a wire in the plug for the switch that turns on with the parking lights. I don't remember what one. that is how it did mine. just test the wires.

Ok sorry to be unclear about it the blue wire i am refering to is not one that is in the car you can use any color you want i just wrote blue to set the two apart (so just buy some from a hardware store) now what you want to do is cut the red wire with a white stripe and block off the part that comes from the front of the car and then splice the one that is on the switch to the new wire (the blue one) and then you need to put a fuse link somewhere on the wire (you can buy one at a local hardware store) for the wire just go buy the size that is there already then use a 10Amp fuse
