the only method i can think of is rewiring the auxiliary lights up to a new source where it can be turned on...like an independent switch or something

With this Mod you will have total control over your running lights
Tools need : Soldering Iron, solder, wire cutters, phillips screw driver

Here are the parts needed for the project:
Wire connectors, fuse link, fuse, wire, electrical tape and shrink tubing

Two screws need to be taken out to access the intrument panel,
after taking them out pull the panel out to access the wiring.

Now you can see the connector for the Aux lights, the green one

Now with the connector pulled you can access the wire you need to cut,
the wire on my car is the red one with a white stripe on it, the one on the
right side of the connector

Here the wiring connector are on with a 2 foot piece of wire added
with a fuse link added on the bottom that plugs into the fuse box.
Also note I added a connector to the old power wire so I can put
every thing back to stock if I want. The old power wire was taped
with electrical tape so it doesn't short out before I put the panel
back in. Now I found a plug-in on the fuse box that only comes on
when the car is running so it turns on when you start the car and
goes off when you turn the car off, you can also turn the running
lights off if you wish not to use them.

I can see that this guy obviously didnt try searchin at all b4 he posted. I had this same post not long ago except it was called "del sol fog lights." NEwayz, a guy posted a how to for my topic as well which is much easier than this one. All u do is cut the power wire going to the aux lights switch and splice it into the power wire going to the hazard lights switch. This way there is no changing fuses or adding wire or NE of that. Much easier and works just as good. Heres the link https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=394814
