VTEC engines use oil. They are meant to.

U sure about that? My B17 (VTEC engine) doesnt consume a noticeable amount. Does it state somewhere in the Honda manual what the average amount of oil consumption is on the B16A? Please support your statement.

All engines use oil to an extent. When you go into VTEC alot you will notice your oil level will go down. VTEC is designed to use oil. Its something I know. Take note of where I work(look in sig).

ALSO Explain to why a 2001 Prelude would only have 1 liter of oil in it and VTEC would not work if an engine did not use oil. And don't tell me it wasn't filled up lol

Every engine does use oil (by "use" i mean consume). Do u know what i mean by consume? Some motors use/consume a lot (such as a quart every 700 miles) and some use so little that its nothing to worry about. I dont think we are on the same page here. A VTEC motor does need oil pressure for VTEC to function so if you are extremely low on oil, VTEC will not function. BTW, there is something seriously wrong with that 2001 prelude....and how do u know it wasnt filled up completely in the first place?

Whats your job title at HONDA?

It really depends.

My dad goes about 50 miles a day his Toyota burns oil like 1Quart every 3 Months...his car about 160,000 Miles ļ

So I think motors burn oil but my b16a does not burn any amount of Oil

anyways while we are on the Oil Subject I just did a Oil Change on my car and the Mexican Guy Put 4.5 Quarts of Oil will that bring up any issues it way more then the it should be... ?

A header has nothing to do with oil consumption....neither does VTEC. VTEC needs more oil to operate, yes, but is doesn't make it dissapear. The only reasons for noticeable oil consumption are a.) bad rings, b.) bad valve guide seals, or c.) a bad gasket that is leaking a significant amount. Headgaskets as well can leak oil.

By no means are VTEC engines meant to burn oil. Honda did not design their engines to burn oil.

When driven hard and VTEC is opened frequently a little oil consumption is normal because they are hard working high reving motors. If I drive my car normal and dont take it to 8K RPM 10 times a day it will not burn oil. But if I hit VTEC often, which sometimes I can't help myself, a little oil gets consumed.

Steve maybe I can get some free work with all the referrals I'm getting you guys
