PetroGuy's Alarm Install additions and questions.
First off, the write-up PetroGuyX did was sweet
, but he really needed a good camera. I have in hand the icelord wiring diagrams, the alarm install manual, and Petro's write-up (the best of the three).

The icelord diagrams are easy for me to follow - but of course they don't give the location of the wires. The alarm manual is pointless really. They say stuff like : door trigger in the driver's kick panel... well yeah - along with 500 other wires, thanks. Petro told where he grabbed the wires, but I was unable to find some of them from the pictures. Plus, I am using a horn honk output instead of a siren.
+12V white wire under steering column
There are several sets of wires coming from the steering wheel. They are all wrapped in black covers, and the white wire is in one of them. I tapped into the wire under the steering column.
Ignition
The ignition wire is also accessible under the steering wheel - in another set of wrapped wires. As Petro said - look for a Black/Yellow wire.
GND duh
Parking lights
As in Petro's picture, the parking lights are a red/blue stripe wire which terminates at the fuse box.
Door trigger
Also as in Petro's picture, the door trigger is a black/white stripe wire which goes into a connector right above fuse box. The connecter is a large one, looks like two side-by-side. The door trigger wire depends on the domelight position. So, to test if this is the right wire, turn the domelight to the AUTO position and probe the wire. When the door is closed the wire will show +12V. When the door opens, the wire will go to ground (0V).
Door locks
These were tricky to get to on my car. Contrary to what Petro said, the harness for these wires wasn't hanging above my clutch - it was way up in the dash, and there was no connector - just a bunch of wire taped in a clump. There are two wires needed -
black/white which unlocks, and
black/red which locks.
I eventually found the wires by tracing the clump of wires from where they come into the car at the door - to underneath the dash.
Horn
In the case of the horn, my manual was a little wrong. I spent a long time looking for a blue/red wire coming from the steering wheel before I found out from the schematics that I should look for a blue/black wire. There is a yellow connector where this is found at the base of the steering column. Eveything wrapped in yellow is the SRS system, so don't mess with it - but there is a connecotr which has one wire wrapped in yellow, two light green wires, and the blue/black horn wire. To test it - ground it and the horn will sound. I hooked up a relay to change the polarity of my alarm output, and then tapped into this wire right at the yellow connector.
The end

yeah i never even found a harness - just the bunch of wires coming from the door. and it was a real pain getting up in there at the wires. but at least they're concealed real well.
never got around to taking pics before i put the air duct and face back on - maybe one day... what a slacker huh. yours work well enough - it just seems there are some differences in the arrangement under there.
