Default weird question, but need some serious answers!

What in the devil would cause spark plug wires to get corrosion around the wire part that seats on valve cover ?!

This happened to the stock ones, they were replaced with MSD 8.5mm wires not even 6months ago. And now they too have the same crud on them.

maybe some old oil or some battery acid that might have spilled there?? i have no idea really.

pics? cause my ngk blues are not even a year old and are like melting in that same area...instead of blue there like all brown in that area and not the same formation no more..like when u put a lighter to plastic and it deforms a lil before it melts...

don't bite my head off... but i have been told and i have heard that these aftermarket upgrade wires are not all that they are supposed to be. but i don't know. but anyway the old stock wires did the same thing...anyone else know? Please help. gloria

i really dont know why your wires are doing that, but i swear by oem wires, they are the best.

i have msd's but i would also rec. ngk., also you are correct most of the aftermarket wires just have larger insulation and have the same cores, nothing realyl diff, guys just like the bigger is better thing, also what you can do is at night when the car is runnign use a spray bottle on mist and spray it at the wires see if you see any sparks or anything of the sort, if so there is a break in the insulation. might be a cause might not, good luck
