Default b16 swap help

ok, so we have the swap running and everything. but it is throwing a code for VSS. the speedometer shows what speed we are going so i'm not sure i understand the problem. Could it be that the cluster is not sending the signal to the ecu? So right now my friend is using an rpm activivation switch for vtec. but when the switch is hooked up he gets a vtec solenoid code. Any thoughts on this problem would be of great help. Thanks.

Make sure the vss is in the trans good, take it out actually and clean it off good. Also make sure the connection is good behind the speedometer. Then reset the ecu after all this.
