ok, well i have a 90 crx si, and ive been using honda oil filters since the day i bought the car. i recently read in a import car magazine an article about oil filters. i forgot which magazine, and i was wondering if anyone else knew what i was talking about. but basically it said the USDM honda oil filters were crap, and the JDM honda oil filters were different and made of better material. it also tested multiple filters, such as mobil, fram, etc.

can anyone shine some light on this topic? now im questioning if using honda oil filters was a good choice. if this topic has already been covered, could someone point me in the right direction (thread link, website)?

when i got my JDM motor it had a "HAMP" oil filter which i guess is made by mugen if i'm not mistaking i forgot but i read something about it before

 

HAMP is made by Honda but basically its made in Japan. Its not made by mugen though.
