Oil Filter
Just wondering what the Oil filter number for the honda fit is for FRAM. If anyone got link or number that would be great. I'm thinking of using penzoil for the oil. J/W what other people use.

Re: Oil Filter (mangofresh)
i would use stock honda filter if i were you. the framsfilters out so much stuff but the cost for that is being highly restrictive. some hondas have been known to burn up for lack of oil because of this. and the honda filter also has a valve that does not allow the oil to drain back into the oil pan from the filter at engine shut down. there for the oil goes a shorter distance at startup before it reaches critical parts.

Re: (Fitifornia Blue)
Hey there. I just helped my friend do an oil change on his Fit. I gotta say, it is the easiest car to do an oil change. I have 2 Accords, and a RSX and by far, it is the easiest.
We used Quaker State Full Synthetic. Horsepower one. 10w30. And a Bosch Oil filter. I say Bosch are pretty good oil filters. But don't go with Fram. So bad!

You should try an 06+ R18 Civic. The filter is right by the oil pan bolt facing downward. VERY easy.

Re: Oil Filter (rivergod56), MPG's, tire rotation
I just put in a fram filter. I checked the old honda filter and see no flap that would prevent oil falling back into pan...I don't want to ruin the engine. el, what the hell? ...8300 km and 15% oil life when changed for 1st time. Also had the #1 rotate tires dummy light on. It seems a little early to rotate. How does the Fit know when to rotate? Any chance it monitors G forces ? I have been rather G in my drive style .... Must complain about the lame jack that comes with car. Takes forever to lift and lower....And I have to wonder, I saw an auto fit rated @ 50 mpg/highway on the lott. Why are so many people reporting low MPG's? Did Canada get a different engine than the U.S.? I'm getting 48/mpg @ 130km/hr.

Re: Oil Filter (rivergod56), MPG's, tire rotation (johnny mittens)
i've been using bosch oil filters since i bought my fit. Nothing less. There is a HUGE comparison between all the top oil filters and bosch matched up to the best JDM oil filter (HAMP) but the price is 1/2 of that of a HAMP filter. Filter is the same as the 06 honda civic so if u go 2 an auto parts store n they don't have the fit on their system, just look up the filter for a 06 honda civic (regular or SI cuz the filter is the same).

Re: Oil Filter
I am currently having an issue with my d16y7, when I serviced it it had a fram filter on it, and no oil in the filter. I called honda and they gave me the spill about the valve to prevent drainback, so I bought one and installed it. Ran the car and parked it overnite. Pulled the honda filter down next day and guess what, NO OIL IN IT EIGTHER. My oil light goes out after I start it up though. I'm going to pull my pan and look at the pickup. I just bought this car and the oil pan is beat to crap, so i imagine its up against the pick up, or the pickup is craked?

Re: Oil Filter
Always use honda filters...
Or napa gold is a very good filter as well.
FRAM is horrible.
And if if there isnt oil in your oil filter, please drop your oil pan its not that many bolts, its not hard, i'd just recommend buying a new gasket and always always torque to spec. Oil pan bolts are low torque.
