Default My block work estimate... am i getting screwed?

$200 for assembly of a short block (pistons, rods, rings, bearings, crank, etc)
$45 to refit the pin fittings on the eagle rods because they are slightly too small
$50 rehone darton closed deck sleeves
$120 to balance it fully
$35 to polish the crank
$85 to surface the block
$55 to hot tank, Mic the block, plus other misc costs.

Is there stuff in there that is entirely unnecessary or some things i wont need? and are the prices good?

I've never paid for any engine work but $85 to surface the block!?! Why does it cost so much to surface it? I thought that would be one of the cheaper things.

Those prices are good. I charge a lot more for shortblock assembly.

Those prices are too cheap. Nobody who actually does it right would do it that cheap, it just takes too much time. I'd be weary of the quality of work...

Those are all average and below average prices. I just hope you aren't getting what you pay for.
