Door lock and unlock wires in 2001 prelude
I am trying to install an alarm in my 2001 Honda Prelude Type SH.. I need to find the lock and unlock wires under the dash so that the alarm can lock and unlock the doors.. I know the doors are a negitive trigger.. Can someone tell me what color the wires are and what harness that are at.. Thanks.. tgreaves@remuplk.com
Most car audio/alarm places have a company they call or email and they have spec sheets on almost all cars on the wiring harness that tell which wires are what and where they are located. It might cost 'ya something but I don't think it'll be very much, maybe $10 max. So if you have a local strore that installs , check with them first. I use to install at my shop but not any more and I've lost their number and don't remember their name. I think a shop around where I live could get it and I could email it to you but try on your own first.
When your done double check the passenger door unlock, it seems for some reason there's something special too it. I had to take mine back to get it fixed as did a couple other people. My alarm was an Alpine and the two others where Clifford alarms if that means anything.

I have that problem right now...my passenger door (un)lock won't work. What's up with that crap? Should I
the installer?

I'm not sure what it is but it's a 5th gen prelude thing according to my installer. he said he has no problems with the tegs/accords/civics. You should be able to take it back and they basically call their alarm tech support guys that tell them how to make it work. I heard someone say it had to do with the way the switches where but I dont know.

Ok...here i'll help..
If you look under the dash....let's say right over the fuse box....not quite completely over the fuse box, but to the left, there is a 2 pin harness, that's just dangling around...that's your door lock harness........one wire is for lock, the other is for unlock! Right under the driverside!
good luck....i had the same problem!
