Default Has anyone here gone to UTI in California?

I know this isn't neccesarily a "tech" question but I am looking for answers from some of you tech guys. It should most likely be in the discussion forum and if it needs to be moved there then by all means do so.

My question is basically I would like to know how the school is? I was wondering as far as tuition (how much)? How long did it take for you to graduate? Are there immediate job openings after graduation? how many classes and what type of classes you had to take? And any other helpful info you can give me.

The reason i ask is that I am 21 yrs old. I like working on my car, Ive always been a mechanical person, I loved to take **** apart to see how they worked and build things. I was trying to get into the field of architecture but I am now having second thoughts. Those thoughts being that I know I would love a career in automotive more than architecture.

My parents said they wont pay for **** anymore if i switch my major to something silly like auotomotive work, so I will have to fund this life altering decision myself. My friends do not approve of this little change either but Im trying to do what makes ME happy. Any info would be great thx

automotive work pays crap.....unless you spend 40k dollars in tools, then you can get paid decent. An a.s. degree in autmotive service is worthless. If you want to work in automotive industry and make money get a mechanical or electronics engineering degree. There are specialized automotive industry degrees, check out the SAE (society of autmotive engineers) website http://www.sae.org. I just got my a.s. degree in auto technolgy and they still consider me "entry level" even though I know more than most non-english speaking persons that just r&r's (remove and replace) parts all day long.
