My friend just bought nitrous... Questions
He has a 92 teg ls and he just bought a zex dry kit, a 50-75-150 shot i think and he also just got his new plug wires and zex plugs. Will it be safe for him to use? I dont want him blowing up the engine, he doesnt know much about nitrous

Nitrous is safe as long as it is installed correctly and you monitor certain things while on bottle i.e. air fuel ratio, with the zex kit you need to see bottle pressure because the kit adjusts your fuel pressure accordingly.

A/F ratio gauges are shady, dont rely on them. You can get a bottle pressure gauge for like 50 bucks, but I thought you didnt have to monitor bottle pressure with a zex kit because it adjusts FP according to bottle pressure. Maybe Im wrong.

Sounds to me your friend should have done more research before buying a tris kit.

I think that kit is for a Mustang.. Honda/Acura kits come with 55-65-75hp jets. Anyway he should be fine with the 75. Just retard the timing 4 degrees and get like 1 step colder plugs (NOT ZEX PLUGS!!!!). Keep the bottle pressure at no higher than 950psi and NEVER spray below 5k rpms.. Everything will be fine.

well he said he got zex plugs, whats bad about them? And with retarding it 4 degrees wouldnt it be pretty sluggish with just daily driving? or should you only retard it when you know you are going to use the nitrtous?
I agree with the statement that your friend should've done a little more research on nitrous. All the guessing that he's going to do could end up costing him big $$

anyone remember the Jacobs Mastermind? I had one of those back about 7 yrs ago when i though VW's were the ****. That is IMO an awsome progressive controller. Dont know if you could find them anymore becasue Jacob's folded no?

Thats why you should only do a 65 shot and put it back 2 degrees

I have run a 65 shot ZEX Kit for a little while now and it is great, im thinking of stepping it up to a 75 shot next time around at the track. I would say get rid of the ZEX plugs and get some NGK's i think they are BKR7E or something like that. Also tell your friend to do some research before we all see a post saying "I think my friend blew his motor"
tell him to throw the zex plugs out the window on the highway. i put them in my gsr and it made my car cough, spit, and sputter. i then went and bought the correct ngk plugs in my car, not a colder plug, but the plug from stock settings and it brought my car to life and is now running well. granit, the plugs that i put in my car were 12 dollars a plug, but it was well worth it.
