Weight of a US Type R?
My ITR with AC and 3/4 tank of gas weighs 2505lbs.
Another H-T member was at the track too, and his weighed 2500 even.

I weighed mine at work and it weighed 2520 w/o spare tire and tools and 1/2 tank.
My GSR weighed 2580 w/o spare tire and jack with 1/2 tank.
My S2000 weighed around 2780 with 1/2 tank with spare and tools.

The most commonly quoted weight specification (in North America, anyway) is "curb weight". This is the weight of the car with full fluids (full tank of gas) and all standard equipment (spare tire and jack, etc), but no occupants. This is what is usually quoted in marketing materials (brochure), technical materials (service manual), magazine articles, etc.
Those who are claiming that their cars weigh different from the curb weight probably have less than a full tank of gas (a full tank contains 13.2 gallons at approximately 6 pounds per gallon) and may have some other differences in equipment and contents as well. And scales can be considerably inaccurate, too.

Since A/C was optional that year, this was without A/C. Interesting, because I have a '97 ITR brochure from the dealer and it says 2600 pounds. And, as noted above by Soup ****, the curb weight of the '01 is 2639 pounds.

Not me. I had 3/4 tank of gas and only weighed 2505. I think 90% of ITR weights I've seen are right around 2500.
Even if I filled it up with 3 more gallons, thats only 18 more pounds.

'98 brochure says 2595
'00 brochure says 2639
So A/C + Rear Wiper & Motor = 46 lbs.
Anybody weighed the spare, jack, & tools? I've never removed them at auto-x or track because I didn't feel I was competitive enough to matter and they are rear weight balance, but curious as to how much they are.

Weight = bad, regardless of where it is on the car. There is no such thing as rear weight balance unless you can subtract weight from the front and add it to the rear. Sure, if you *have* to add weight due to the rules, the rear is where you want it to go--but additional weight is *always* a bad thing in terms of performance.
Take out the spare next time you autox. It will make a difference.

I weighed my GSR with the spare/jack and tools and it weighed 2620. With all of that removed it weighed 2580. Which is 40 pounds. The scale weighed in 20 pound increments so this isn't exact, but very close.
Weight of jdm front end is maybe 8-10 lbs. lighter than the usdm front end. Most of that weight difference is due to the smaller bumper reinforcement in the jdm front end. This makes the jdm front lighter, but less safe. When the usdm bumper reinforcement is added to the jdm front, the difference is negligible.
2490 with rear seat and spare removed in a 01 r. I know that it was barely under 2500. Next time I'm going to go with JDM scales because they way better or is that weigh better?
I'm also running ssr comps 17" which weigh about 31 lbs. with kumho stickies
