440cc/min injectors + 12:1 regulator = too much fuel even if you try using an AFC to lean it out.

That is quite possibly the WORST set up for fuel that money can buy.. First offf-- FMU's SUCK and are horribly inaccurate.. Second-- the AFC hack sucks as well... If your spending money to boost in the first place, then on top of it your boosting a B18C5, then sell the AFC and the FMU for 350$ and spend a few more bucks and buy Hondata.. Cause right now -- your just being stupid.. Yes- you just got owned and I'm right.. No arguing..

I know plenty of people here in jersey runnin 10's on an fmu setup, including a lot of my cars going 11's on stsock ecu's with an fmu setup. Hondata this and hondata that, its good but some people like to have setups that plain simply work for them. Either way, run around 12-13 deg. timing and you should be okay. I would consider dropping the pill in the fmu lower with 440cc injectors.

I can't believe that the car even runs with both 440s and 1:12 FMU (1 psi in 12 out)
I have had a bitch of a time with 440s and stock regulator and VAFC running at 9.5 psi. I guess if you run much higher boost, you can get the AF to lean out, but mine runs rich as hell w/o even an FMU, BTW - I ran 13.6s with stock injectors, FMU and no VAFC with stock tires

I have a cartech FMU so I can mess with ratio's but I just want a baseline timing to start from to be safe but make some power. ohh I forgot to tell you guys I am shooting for about 14psi on east coast pump gas(93-94 octane)

boosted your on crack man...
440 injectors with that stupid *** afc hack always causes problems. it IT too mcuh fuel..... you need a 6:1 fmu if you even need one at all. If you would have been smart you coudl have gotten ahold of a hondata with boost for not a lot more than you payed for a safc and the fmu.

fmu=$120 new for a vortech
safc=$300 new
total= $420

Hondata s200+boost = $590

so is it worth having a "half assed" system?

You keep doing what your doing and as logn as your not listening to those of us who DO know, your not going to get much help becasue your not listening to us. why should we help you?
" no it's not a lot of people are running that" Well a lot of those people are also having issues and blowing their motors aren't they?

When was the last time you say a guy who took the time to do his car right blow his motor?

Whenw as the last time you saw a guy half assed his project use cheep stuff and cut corners blow his motor (aka afc hack)

Nuff said........

Its not an AFC hack and this system has worked fine for years on STOCK motors. My motor is a complete stock motor running 1 bar daily pump gas and have had the car many times on 1.3 bar on race gas. The car went 11.76 at 16lbs. I know this is not the BEST way to do it. But it works so dont get on people that choose to do it this way. I know some of you sweat hondata and it is a good system but there is more than just buying the system you must take it to someone to tune it, there are so many variables that are not as easy for the average person to do. Saying that people that do it that way dont blow motors is just insane, everyone blows motors, hondata or not. If you dont tune it right and dont have enough fuel the car is gonna blow up.

elite hatch. I just finishing puttin the FMU on a hour or so ago. I love it so far. I haven't gone over 8psi cause I didn't get to dial timing back yet but on stock timing the car feels great. it is 1000 times better than the hack easily.

I actually have a quick one. do you think I will be ok with 11-13 deg timing for 14psi on 94 octane. I am trying to get my **** together for an import event at our local track friday. I am thinking about race gas for that night so without a BTM will I be safe somewhere in that timing zone for 14psi or so?

Do you have a thicker headgasket to drop compression or pistons. Let me know a little more about your setup

yeah it is set up just like inline pro sets up their ****. 3mm headgasket, block gaurd, 450ccinjectors, FMU, missing link, afc. I put it on my buddies wideband today. ITR fuel maps suck for boost cause it dumps so much fuel at 7k but up until 7600 or so at 15psi and 94 octane I had no detonation and 12.1-11.0 AF ratio. after that it drops to 10:1 af ratio but I don't want to trim injectors anymore cause it will start to mess with timing. the car runs so well though. it pulls super hard and just keeps pulling. if you are on a budget this system works great.

screw hondata and the fmu, ,and get https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=572526 . You can tune it unlike an fmu, and it costs infinitely less than a hondata system

I am OBD2 though so the FMU works best for me until I can get a hondata or ems

nice turbo type r.....I am sure I am no where near that. I am thinking more in the 300 range or a little lower just to be modest. this does make the afc hack look like ****. I have run both systems and the FMU set up is 1000000000000 times better
