Default D16y8 into 98 dx hatch

I was just curious to what is involved with this swap?

I have a 97 D16y8 motor, engine, tranny and ECU from a buddy i did a gsr swap for and was wondering what if anything else is needed to swap the EX motor into my 1998 dx hatchback?

Also i have the complete engine to ecu harness for the EX....

as far as i know it is all swap in plug and play (drive) and just really wondering if it is really worth the swap??? because the dx is SOOOO slow compared to my Crx.

Crx has ls/vtec swap and drive the civic dx to work and back and to carry child around and just want a little more umph till my gsr buildup is done for it.....

thanks guys

ummm i think that the cat is different on the y8 than the y7, so there may be some clearance issues.

The cat's are different, Y7 is in the front of the engine, Y8 is under the car. Also a different header. The second O2 sensor is also under the car, which means you need to get the correct under dash harness to run it correctly. Contact Importautosalvage.com and they can get it for you. Got mine for 100$ Ask for Larry.

I have the y8 exhaust manifold with a high flow aftermarket cat along with new cat back exhaust system. So i think its pretty mush plug and play i hope

The secondary o2 sensor will be your only problem. The EX engine harness does not have a place for it. You could however tap into the lines coming from the ecu and just connect it from there. Just a thought
