Default Comptech Header Installed! Now there's a little problem!

Today I installed my comptech 4-2-1 TIG SS Header. I must say I could definetely feel a power difference, and the sound of the car is now deeper. Also, I used to have the infamous integra header rattle on my car which is now gone since the header was replaced. I like it alot and it also looks beautiful in the engine bay.

Now, on to the problem. The bolts that mount the header to the head all came off (eventually ). However, one was giving me alot problems and I used a vice plyers to get it off. This particular bolt that was giving problems was the one located in the bottom left corner (see pic).

Now the problem is this bolt broke. Meaning the nut and part of the stud broke off and the rest of the stud stayed inside the head . So now I have a nut and half the stud and the rest of the stud stuck in the head. How can I get this out? What is the simplest solution? Also, my car has the header bolted up in every other location, is it safe to drive my car like this? Thanks, I appreciate any help.

Tap it out, and yes it would be fine to drive it if there is no exhaust leak. When i put my comptech header on i broke the exact same bolt and its been off for around 6 months no problems, no leaks....

when recently working on my car, I noticed one of my lower bolts was missing too. I've been driving like this for about 20K miles (since I've owned the car). I haven't seen an ill effects from this, and there didn't look to be an exhaust leak. I remember a few threads about this (king DIYer Patrick94GSR comes to mind), and what owners did to fix it. I say try a search or wait for more replies, someone should come along. HTH.

How can I check for an exhaust leak? Just feel around that area of the header?

that happened to me. after you drill it out, you can buy a new stud and replace it, or be ghetto like me and just use a bolt with the same threading and use that until you replace the stud

you'll be fine if there's no exhaust leaks. best way to remove the broken stud is get yourself a tap and die set from sears or any other places and also buy a new stud to replace the broken stud.

My lower left stud has been broken for...who knows...like 45k or something. When I originally put my Comptech header on. It hasnt leaked yet, same gasket and everything.

if you look closely at the pic, the circled stud is not broken, its still there and bolted up fine. I think he just used the pic for reference...

What's that supposed to mean???

Thanks guys, the info helped. There is no ticking sounds or smell of exhaust fumes coming from the engine bay so I don't think there is a leak. Thanks for the link leadfoot, I think I will do that next weekend.
