well im not too worried about having the whole thing jacked, i just dont want people breakin into it all the time, thers not too many big time crooks in my area that i know of, just kids that **** around and steal systems. so i just need a little security cause my system's already been jacked twice.

but its a good alarm? you think i should get it if i dont want my **** stolen anymore.

Piechie is correct ( us installers know our **** )
The 553T is actually the same as all of there
*flagship* systems....just not with the high tech range capability ( ie responder). Quad..sorry to bust your bubble but it has a
single imobilizer as standard equip. The hornet
brand is sold with no territory restrictions like the other brands are. Basically its the same alarm...it allows DEI to be in the reach of all.

A good system for you would have the following: if its a CRX/Hatch ( going based on the avitar)

1.Single or dual immobiler system.
( ignition and or starter..if stick do ign)
2. Hood Lock...no brainer there with these cars
3.air horns/sirens mounted behind fender.
4. pinswitch on hood...once again no brainer
5.glass breakage sensor
6. tilt/ motion sensor....you know you want
to protect those wheels right.
7. main hidden in a diff location with a non
working decoy under the dash.
8. LEDs mounted in non standard locations.

This can be acheived with even the basic 300
series DEI product and some talent. You could even add keyless entry to your car if you
so desire...its a cool option and a few hour
project if your ready for the challenge. As you see I didnt mention the pager....I like them but to many peeps have this delisusional superhero kick that they are gonna "catch the
crook in the act" and lay the smackdown...in reality these roaches are getting bolder and
normally work in crews ( Thanx NEXTEL ) Your
car is not worth being hurt or worse.

Thats all for now...

do you know anything about this alarm or didn't you even read the description of the alarm in the link he had? i had that same alarm on many of my previous vehicles. it is a 4 channel alarm and also offers a few alarming/status outputs. true it is not as fancy as the Avanguard 4, but 90% of the people who have an alarm on their car never use it to its full potential. on a side note....this is basiclly the same brain that dei uses for their 2-way paging alarms.

I my firend got jacked with a hornet unit, I don't really like any of the low name alarms, that DEI all bought out

Avangurd or nothing for me The G4 Unit (The G5 is so lame, why did DEI have to take over and make the wiring so simple and the same like all of there alarms.)
