Looks like a painted Autopower cage...no idea regarding specs.

 

The rear supports of the autopower connect to the wheel well area, not the rear of the car.

The Kirk Racing bar connects at the rear like that, but the angles are all wrong to be a Kirk -- The Kirk rear supports are strait, where these appear to travel parallel to the roof, then bend down at the very rear of the car. Personally, I think that's just some BS "tuner" cage designed more for looks than functionality.

That bar might not pass tech (for anything that bars are required) because the rear supports are bent along the roof. I *think* SCCA and most other clubs require them to be straight tubes.

 

I could very well be illegal according to NASA CCR, depending on how the rear legs of the main hoop connect to it. It seems that they bend by the roof and then connect to the main hoop, which would make them illegal...AFAIR those bars can't have any bends in them...

 

I wouldn't let that car in any event I was srutineering, lapping, racing....anything. Just seeing the shoulder harnesses mounted like that will give me nightmares for days, don't even get me started about the cage. Where the rear supports mount to the floor puts all those bolts in shear, not good..

This is an example of what not to do. So I guess it would be good to know what brand so we can all avoid it.

 

It isnt that bad seeing as how its in a strong fixed position, and that it is some what even with the shoulders since it is going over the bar.

I think alot of people including countless NASA and SCCA techs and racers and Kirk would be a little offended by his nosensical remarks

 

I have been doing tech for quite a while now (CASC and FIA), and I would fail this car instantly if it showed up at one of my events.
