f-max turbo, What can be tuned?
OK so I read on here all the time that you need to properly tune a turbo setup. Well, I was wondering what exactly could a shop tune with a stock F-max turbo system on a 96 h23? No cam gears, no FPR, just the ERL MF2 with the 2 extra injectors.
Yeah you can't tune your car if you don't have anything to tune it with........ for your setup it sounds like all you need is a AFC...... go EMS if you have the money though
the mf2 can be tuned, but it isn't very accurate. Due to the fact that it injects before the throttle body, you can't really accuratly figure which cylinders are getting the fuel. It is worth a shot tho, as I assume you are not looking to spend more money. If you are I would really recommend hondata. I bought mine, and got rid of the mf2, and havn't looked back

The lude is an auto...for now. The AEM is for 5speed only. Not sure about the hondadata.
So basically, in the current configuration there is really nothing I can tune. Well that will save some money on dyno tuning time at a shop.

EFI Systems PMS can be used. It is a standalone system, and has the option of working in piggyback mode. that takes over control of the ignition and fuel curves, and because of the way it installs and works it does not require removal of the stock ecu, allowing the ecu to function otherwise normally. This system will allow for use on an SS lude.
Anyways Fuel Pressure and some other thigns still need to be tuned on a dyno even if all you have is a kit! You can tune some things on a stock FMAX system.

EFI Systems PMS can be used-- This sounds similiar to the MF2. The MF2 is a full 3D injector driver system which can run up to 8 injectors (for water, fuel, etc). It would be a simple and easy way to say run 4 2ndary injectors on an after-market intake manifold for a turbo setup. It's what my brother is using right now to run 12.9's on a stock internal lude. Kauffmann Motorsports near gettysburg/carlisle PA area did the dyno tuning.
