oh well I have an AEM EMS myself and it is for sale now. I bought a simple S200B from Hondata for my next tune.
I dont know anything when it comes to electronics but I found that for a street car Hondata is easier to use and its also cheaper.... I mean who really use all the feature of the EMS in their street car ? Personnaly I dont... so I just bought a nice S200B for 350$ used and my car will just start and idle better now.
Thats my personal opinion... I know that some tuner love the EMS but if you dont have one close to you its a BIG problem.
You cant go wrong with Hondata... AEM EMS is by far more picky to use...

did you search? This has been covered hundreds of times.
It all comes down to what you want. Do you want to have your car tuned and never mess with it? If so go with neptune or a chip based EMS. If you want to constantly tune it or dick with it and don't want to have to burn chips and tune on the fly then aem might be for you. It is not something that you can plug in and it will work and you will never have an issue. Some people have aem systems and never have an issues. Other people have tons of issues. I had one of the first aem boxes years ago and had tons of issues when I upgraded from version .79 to .94 then when my car got stolen I got aem again and was running v1.03 without any issues for a few years. I think most bugs were fixed and the software/hardware seems more stable.

AEM EMS user here; I will use nothing else, its nice to have nearly infinite options should you need them, plus the ease of the tuning, etc, etc. Just my preference

thanx for the info. some say they have problems and some say its the ****. basically the shop that will tune it, is telling me that ems has problems from one day to the next and a chipped ecu will have no problems compared to ems which theres so much it can do, which is that much more that can go wrong. i have done tons of research but the guy that was gonna tune my ems has moved outa state. ill figure something out, just wanted to see what other users think of ems ect.

Like I said the newer versions have been pretty much trouble free from what I have seen and people I know that use them. It is very easy to mess the tune up or your motor up if you don't know what you are doing b/c there is so many features with it.

Ive probably sold 50 EMS's over the past year and have yet to have an issue with them; NOT tuner(or lack thereof) related...

just make sure you have a tuner that knows what he/she is doing; you WILL break something if they dont

Most engine management solutions will be fine if you have a good tuner that knows what they are doing. If your tuner is only good with Hondata, then that's the way you may want to go.
P.S.- I've been running a JDogg-tuned AEM EMS for years and it works great.

oh of course, this tune shop says ems runs very poorly and to buy their neptune, or hondata ecu b/c it just runs better. some users on this forum wont use anything but ems.
